In the world of breathtaking, melted -down, mind bending blues there is no finer exponent than guitarist Stevie Zee.
THIS MAN IS A MASTER!
Extremely dynamic and versatile, his fiery and awe-inspiring talent places Stevie firmly in the tradition of
guitarslingers such as Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ritchie Blackmore, and Johnny Winter... As
Joey Scruggs, President of the Cascade Blues Association and Editor of Blues Notes USA wrote after a recent
outdoor performance: "Zee has totally captured the feeling and tone those legendary axemen had with their
playing, and that tone gives you shivers!"
No question- Stevie is the real deal. Out of his big bag of supercharged blues come a host of
spectacular twists, turns, licks and tricks, blended together with a powerful voice and a
fine set of songs all skilfully performed with a style, passion intensity and
professionalism that are leaving audiences everywhere thrilled and stunned.
Stevie came back to Europe from USA in 1996, after appearing at many major
festivals such as The Oakland Blues Festival, The Oregon Coast Blues & Jazz
Festival and The Portland Waterfront Blues Festival, as well as touring the clubs
and concert venues up and down the Pacific West Coast/ Oregon, Washington,
Idaho and California.
Mr. Zee certainly stirred up a storm in the United States, after spectacular
performances with Pat Travers, Bad Company, Coco Montoya
(John Mayalls Bluesbreakers), Little Charlie and the Nightcats, Curtis Salgado
(Roomful of Blues) and Roy Rogers among others. The American press were ecstatic
in their praise "This is a band that literally smokes in its delivery. Stevie Zee steps out
in front with his superlative, razor sharp guitar riffs, while the other members snap and
roll out the rhythm with effortless, fluid power".
Back in Europe, Stevie made triunphant apperances at The Great British R&B Festival, The Brentwood
International Blues Festival, and The Farnham Maltings Blues Festival, as well as notching up successful shows in
Ireland, France and Spain.
In 2000, Stevie relocated to Madrid, Spain, and has since played with many major Spanish blues and rock artists and
appeared at many of the major Spanish blues festivals. Opening for John Mayall in Sala Aqualung, Madrid, and
Johnny Winter at Sala Gares, Pamplona, he has played at both the XVII and the XX International Blues Festivals of
Cerdanyola, Cazorla Blues Festival, Guadarrama Blues Festival with Otis Grand...and released two more albums,
Caballero (2004) and Super Funky Express (2005) . Along the way Stevie has found time to do tours in Lithuania,
Portugal, France, and Morocco.
Beginning in early 2011 Stevie was invited to join a project, along with other well known spanish rock musicians,
paying tribute to some of history's greatests rock artists/bands, such as Led Zeppelin
(The Bonzo Experience/The Led Zeppelin Experience (December) in sala Ritmo & Compás) Deep Purple
(Deep Purple music Experience), touring around Spain(from June 2012), The Beatles (Magical Mistery Drums, in April
2012, Sala Live), and Jimi Hendrix in June 2011 in Sala Live.
Now there's a new project about to manifest, which is the release of his new album, BLUE. A new band is about to get
together as well, so we'll be updating the news very soon!
